Hardware Journey

We analyze market trends, potential manufacturing constraints, and the bill of materials (BOM) from day one. We screen ideas for their physical feasibility and potential for scalable production.
This involves detailed sketches, 3D CAD models, and material selection. We create non-functional "looks-like" models to test ergonomics, aesthetics, and user interaction.
We create a "works-like" prototype using 3D printing, CNC machining, and off-the-shelf components. This allows us to test the core mechanics, electronics (if any), and functionality.
This is the first production-quality unit, often from a small pilot run. It has the core features and is built with the intended manufacturing processes. This is crucial for certifications (like FCC/CE) and final testing.

Project: A Custom "Boda Boda" for the African Market
We engaged with an international manufacturer for the complete design-to-manufacturing lifecycle of a new motorcycle for the African market. The goal was to create a durable, low-cost, and easily maintainable vehicle for the ride-hailing economy. Our involvement spanned market research, user-centric design, engineering, prototyping, and regulatory approvals.
Project: Agri-Tech IoT Solution for Ruralnomics
For our investee company Ruralnomics, we designed and deployed a network of IoT devices to track poultry health and location in real-time. This end-to-end solution involved developing custom hardware sensors, building a cloud platform to analyze the data, and creating a mobile dashboard for farmers to monitor their assets, improving efficiency and reducing loss.
